KALI KALAM Dharma stands only on SATYAM

It is after a decade i am revisiting my blog.life has changed a lot in the past decade and the SM channels WhatsApp, YouTube, X, LinkedIn etc. have lot to offer and consume our online time.

Dharma is defined in many ways and you will get lot of explanations if you sincerely search for it. I am posting the own i had been sharing with my close friends and family on the profound impact of this understanding that I got in my early years of Satsangh itself. Just improved upon the way of delivery over period of time and with new experiences.

KALI KALAM Dharma stands only on SATYAM

#Sanatan #Sanathan_dharma #sanatansanskriti #truth #dharmasamvad #dharm #sathya #bhagavad #sbm #sb #krishna #rama #sukhdev

In KALI KALAM Dharma stands only on SATYAM one out of four major legs. No short cuts available and the adharmic powers will always try to break the Satyam, unfortunately it can't, even when the other legs are broken, as Satyam itself is BHAGAWAN. And were there is Satyam, even if it is harsh reality sometimes, that is the only medicine for the falsehood.

There is a wonderful allegorical story Described in Srimad Bhagavatam Mahapuranam (SBM 1.17) read with SBM 12.3

The four legs of Dharma are Tapaha, Shaucham, DayA, and Satyam.

Then, it appears that three of the Dharma's legs are broken due to rampant adharmA in the form of pride, lust for women, and intoxication.

Dharma is now standing on one leg only, that is on Satyam alone, and it is managing somehow or other hobbling along with that alone. But quarrel personified [Kali], flourishing by deceit, is also trying to destroy that leg.

The KALI KALAM was allowed to live in certain places as allowed by Mahārāja Parīkṣit, viz., permission to reside in places where gambling, drinking, prostitution and animal slaughter were performed - actually indicating the Gunas viz.

(1) Gambling is figuratively meant here as representative of persons who wishes to just sit expecting Luck to favour him / a lazy habit / no tapas / no sincere efforts - instead of working hard to earn himself in dharmic way. Always looking for shortcuts. Also indicates cheating / supporter of falsehood. And no doubt it is not to be allowed in this Kali Yuga to keep yourself away from its influences.

(2) Drinking intoxication is a figuratively meant to represent all uncomfortable bad habits / no Shaucham. It is to escape from reality without realising it is just a temporary option and will not change the truth / pain, one suffers for whatever reason and can doom one in great Maya / delusion that "all is well" - temporarily,

(3) Prostitution is indication of the adharmic desires, that is, adharmic in nature, also places were the ladies are treated unjustly as desirable objects, simply fall for aSatyam falsehood, that which is just driven by bounded action and not truthful, is a good place for the Kali to reside,

(4) Place were animals are slaughtered indicates the merciless behaviour of human, krUra guna devoid of the guna of dayA / mercy on helpless creatures. Obviously the leg that is daya, of Dharma devatha, is broken by this inhuman behaviour, allowing the Kali kala time to prevail

And Extra fifth place is eventually given, making it the most dangerous of all the places, as it lets in to bring all other places mentioned above along with it, giving more space to spread adharma, viz.

(5) A place in Gold.
Actually Gold is considered a holy object that has no Dosha associated with it, then, what is meant by Gold? 🤔.

Gold represents the greed that brings envy and enmity along with it. Greed that has no limits and very competitive and an important reason for many other fall of a human beings. The problem with this fifth place is, one cannot avoid it, Gold (Money), but there is no clear indication of what is more or what is less (as it is always relatively compared), that is why everyone will be haunted by the KALI KALAM without exception.

Even the great king Pariksit was not able to win this over as per SBM Srimad Bhagavath Mahapuranam Katha.

Therefore, whoever desires progressive well-being in this time period viz Kali, especially for those who are dharma-śīlaḥ—those who are on the progressive path of liberation following Dharma, Kings, Public Leaders, Guru's, should never come in contact with the above-mentioned five places dedicated to Kali, don't allow them any place in your heart or words or action.

There is so much beauty hiddenly conveyed by this story. One beauty is: Why Dharma and Earth are called as Cow 🐄 - it is helpless satwik creature - in other words, if humans think it's weakness of self-defense is absent so we can do whatever we want, even though, it may not wish to pounce upon human for following adharm (killing dharma), it is ultimately going to be the death of human society that follows adharma.

The famous quotes
धर्म एव हतो हन्ति धर्मो रक्षति रक्षितः । तस्माद्धर्मो न हन्तव्यो मा नो धर्मो हतोऽवधीत् ।। Manusmriti 8:15

Inspite of Kali-yuga being an ocean of faults, there is one great goodness with it, the ability to allow Dharma in society & the possibility of salvation for all beings, JUST BY CHANTING THE NAME OF BHAGAWAN SRI KRISHNA / MAHAMANTRA, it will take you, through the association / Satsangh of knowledgeable selfless people & Mahan's & LEAD YOU, out of the bondages of attachments to this samsara sagara, to liberation / reach the aboard of Paramatma / the realisation of the ultimate / END GOAL OF LIFE.

Is there GOD?!! If so, why did he not help the troubled one, God was called to help and rescue, still it seems he did not turn around on time?!!

"Is there GOD?!! If so, why did he not help the troubled one, God was called to help and rescue, still it seems he did not turn around on time?!!"

This is the Argument posed to me by a friend; I suppose a, genuine question.
As soon as I realized that arguing this is bit challenging - I was wonderstruck and the hours went by when I was asking myself the same question - Is God all merciful and a perfect being?!! If so, why does he leave people in troubled situations without helping them?! Why he did not help when he was called to help, in all earnestness, by those troubled individuals who were suffering?!!

We should first have faith that GOD is perfect and perfection alone exists from that perfect being, as our Ishavasya Upanishad, which is a part of Yajur Veda, says “purnamadah purnamidam purnaat purnamudachyate purnasya purnaamadaya purnameva vashishyate” (The shanti mantra, the invocation verse) This means:
purnamadah: 'That is complete.'
purnamidam: 'This is complete.'
purnamadah purnamidam 'That is complete, this is complete'.
purnat purna mudachyate - 'From that completeness comes this completeness'
purnasya purnamadaya - If we take away this completeness from that completeness'
purnameva vashishyate: 'Only completeness remains.'

All this is fine – I can have faith – but what is the relationship between this and the problem in hand – what is the solution and how do I accept that Perfect being – GOD – Lord Sri Krishna, Lord Sriman Narayanan – helps us from such troubled situations.

With my sincere prayers and an eagerness to learn the reasoning for such an, presumed, indifferent behavior from all merciful Sri Krishna, I was thinking... “Why did he not help those in dire needs, when they have actually called the lord for help?” (This, I do not doubt, any way).

But, from first, one thing was very clear in my mind, that I have never heard even a single Baktha complaining in this manner – if suppose, does this mean that only his Baktha’s are helped? Not the common man who is not a great baktha? Is god partial? I suppose – this is not so. God is impartial, but definitely has a soft corner for his ardent Baktha’s or those who have surrendered to him sincerely.

To analyze and to find a good reasoning – we will have to relook into the problem statement in a different angle. “why did he not help the troubled one” – This is not correct, in a sense that we miss out some important news in almost all the cases – that is, how far are we sure that God had not really helped that individual – I strongly believe that God is all merciful and it is wrong to argue that he did not helped the trouble, as God indicates the humans to be good and thread the right path and has given all the intelligence and senses and posted warning signs – not to get into troubles. This is the essence of my reasoning.

To elaborate and explain, let me put some more examples to make it clear.

“GOD is all Merciful” – as he puts signs and has given the humans common sense that tells us about our short comings and limitations, that we have to accept and work carefully within the given situations / environment around us. It’s like blaming the government – who allows the selling of alcohol in the open market – at the same time has put laws that forces the Liquor company to put big indicates that Drinking alcohol is injurious to health and not good for his family, and so on... Still the man with desires and less morals ignores the warnings and starts and get entangles in his bad habits. Taking another live example – In the banks of a great river, say like Ganges, there were indications laid down telling that there are crocodiles and be watchful not to even try to go near them – ignoring them, a happy explorer risks his journey through those river and swims and gets attacked by the crocodiles and cries telling that government did not help him being saved – in first place, why did he venture into such a risky sport, did he take all the precautions and support, even some human calculations go wrong even when tried at their best, but man ventures into such risks for the sake of his pride, satisfy his ego and feeling that he is great and showoff that he is different from others who lived in this world before him, ignoring or criticizing the greatness, teachings and learning of our forefathers with his meanly thinking.

All said, it is clear now that GOD does indicate each and every individual about his limitations and strengths – but due to his/her Ego, desire, wrong habits, ignore the signs shown by the Lord and gets into trouble. We should not blame the Lord, for we have already ignored or many times are not even aware of the signs that GOD shows us, before the even of such troubles. Prevention is better than cure. God gives every individual soul the free will to act as well as the tools for him to get to his lotus feet without facing troubles.

God is merciful and impartial as he has given all the required tools that we should use diligently – like the forest, where deer’s live is given with the sense of sound and fast pace to escape from its predators, the lion or tiger. The lion or the tiger in turn is successful upon those deer’s which is being distracted from its core strengths even for a second and does not react on time becomes its prey. Humans, for example go and trust the finance companies that promises enormous returns or say provides eye-washing gifts, which the foolish trust and gets into the trap and gets cheated, when you have other better and wise options (like a Government bank which provides a nominal interest) to invest. We cannot blame the government for not controlling such misgivings, in such cases – all that the government does is, at the max – punish the cheater (but remember this is a reaction and not proactive measure). The trap is the desire of the men and the risk he takes is by ignoring the signs that he sees, and at last he falls as a pray. So, it is not meaningful to ask, why in first place I should get into such trouble.

The difference between a true baktha and a common man (who only wishes to seek the help of God during the time of trouble is). A real Baktha is dependent and seeks the grace of God - all the time for all his actions and he gets the signs correctly and acts accordingly and does not land in trouble, or at-least he is honest to accept that he has ignored the signs shown to him by the Lord and is currently facing the trouble and he accepts it without doubting the Lords presence. Whereas, a common man is not even ready to accept that God has shown him the signs to safe guard himself, but goes to the length of blaming the Lord or question his presence, without how’s strength he cannot even survive.

Thus the correct reasoning is – God is impartial and all merciful and his creation is all perfect.

Due to the ego, desires, wrong habits that one gets from this birth or over many births or due to his/her karma and past vasanas, the humans ignore the warnings that God posts us, and we get into real troubles. It is meaningless to question “Why I was not helped when I was in trouble?”, as I strongly believe and have experienced in many occasions, that Lord Sri Krishna does indicate that you may get into trouble (provided me with a bit of intuition) and asked to avoid the situation, as prevention is always better than cure. To just give my own life example: Very long back when I used to travel in the Chennai city buses. One day, I was in an errand, I had taken the bus ticket, as a good citizen ;) as always, but for some silly reason, in an hurry, I had thrown away my ticket from that bus window, my destination was at least 5 stop away, it was early morning Sunday, I believe. I suddenly realized my mistake and got down the next stop just before I saw that there was these ticket checkers (which was not usual in the early mornings) waiting in the next stop, if I had traveled I would have had to face problems. I was saved from the embracement to be caught in such a situation where I will have to struggle to prove that I had actually taken a ticket but due to my negligence I had lost it, which I am sure they are not going to accept and charge me for the same. As Sri Krishna was all merciful ;) helped me by providing the correct intuition just to get down the stop before the ticket checkers had come – in a hurry. I am not sure, how you would be able to understand this situation – unless you have traveled in the buses of Chennai ;) and the situation of being caught red-handed without tickets ;). This is just a small incident – i can go on and on – the point is – God does provide us with signs to save us but we keep on ignoring them and for this we have to face the problem in hand but we cannot blame the lord for not helping us.

Thank you for reading my blog ;) Please share your comments, if any. I wish and pray that our Guru (H.H. Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji) and Lord Sri Krishna provide us the strength to understand the signs that he shows for us, much more clearly, and give us the strength to thread the right path and act correctly on time, every time and reach his lotus feet.

Lot of religious and caste in India - But Why are we not finding new Adi Sankar's or Ramanujar's?

"We have lot of religious and caste in India, then we find only one Sankaracharyar(Adi Sankarar), only one Ramanujar (Udayavar). Reading their impact over the vast society we understand that they were not like our present Madathipathi's. We see lot of hindu ashrams run by several people, now. Why are we not finding people like Adi Sankarar / Ramanujar - now?" This was a question from one of my friends. Here is my answer

You cannot expect a new Sun to be born every now and then. When considering the Bramha’s Age – millions of years – our life span is very very insignificant and you expect miracles alone to happen, I suppose (which is not natural). Remember – Adi Sankarar was an avatharapurusha, may be in a thousand years you will find someone like that. Ramanujar (Emperumaanar alais Udayavar) was one such avatharapurusha.

Last century has seen – Ramakrishna already, what more do you expect? Indians are gifted for they always have a lineage of very great souls (realized Mahans – there are so many even today – but they do not act and perform as Adi Sankar / Ramanuja did). Avatharapurusha’s have very specific tasks for the society and we should not compare them to Realized Soles, who are there as examples for a small group of people, and those who follow them - get benefited. And they need not act and change a very vast set of society and may not have an influence like those avatharapurushas.

For that matter – Periya periya was considered to be a avatharapurusha to instill the faith of public in Veda and sanathana dharma. As we are in a transitional phase where Kali is getting stronger - day by day, we need to change our outlook as well. That’s why Mahan’s like Sri Sri Krishna Perami swamigal / Sri Sri Muralidara Swamigal are guiding us to the one and only way out of the kali dosha and out of this samsara.

Any –way, note there is big social setup change from the older periods as compared to the setup that you find now. It was possible that every one accepted one great soul in those days. Now it is more tricky, you will find a set of followers for any tom-and-dick in a street. The capacity of people has been very much varied. Also remember - so, people get what they deserve.

I have many more thoughts in these lines – I am at peace – I am not looking out for any great change in the society (God is already taking care of it and I trust him). I believe, in whatever way we can, we should be doing something good in whatever small way we can and bring in those small changes around us and leave the rest to the 'Lakshmi Nathan' (God). That would be always be nice but never expect a miracle to happen suddenly, all around you - from an external agency.

Hope I have answered the question, if you are still having more doubts that you are desperate to clarify you can put them in the Namadwaar site where Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji himself personally answers them.

Just Wonder what the nama can do?

Just after resent posting I was going through my routine mails and there was a pleasant surprise waiting in the inbox. It was a mail from the yahoo group "namabhikshakendra • Chaitanya Mahaprabhu Nama Bhiksha Kendra".

The message from that mail was just substantiating my words through a beautiful story. Here is what the message and story (copied and modified a little from the mail, courtesy Namabhikshakendra yahoo group).

From the discourse of Sri Swamiji:

Once a king gave project to 4 persons of his country and the four people has completed the project nicely.

In appreciation of their work, king wants to give some rewards to these persons and enquired what they expect??...

First person came and told that he wants to have nice roads in his village. King informed his minister to set right the same.

Second person came and he asked the king to give one bungalow and king in turn ordered his minister to sanction one bungalow immediately.

Third person came and informed the king that he wants to marry rich girl and the same was fulfilled by king

At last, the King asked the Fourth person what he wanted. And he simply replied that he desired noting other than the pleasure of the Lord. On hearing those words, the King got astonished and said "I am the ruler of this country and I would like to give something to you and you have to take something from me"

Then the person replied, "O Lord, since you are compelling me, I have one request with you (i.e.,) you have to come and stay in my house for one month". And the King agreed for that and instructed his minister to find out when he was free, and fix dates for his stay in his house.

Minister collected the details of his address & wanted to make preliminary arrangements for the King's stay, in that humble person's house (the Fourth one in our story).

Minister came to know that he was staying in a small hut & there was no proper road to go to his residence.

As King would not like to travel in the junk road, minister ordered to lay road to go to his residence as soon as possible.

Moreover the King cannot stay in a hut. So!! once again, the minister order's to sanction one bungalow for that person. (In other words, make his hut changed into a beautiful bungalow that is fit for a King's stay).

Along with the build up of the bungalow, the minister gave him enough money/gold/diamond to that person (when king comes, person should not complain that he does have money to server him).

Now, if you see, the person has become millionaire.
And mean while a rich man in that village requested that person to marry his beautiful daughter.

Though the last person had not asked anything from the king, he got everything i.e., a new road to his village, bungalow to reside and beautiful rich wife

Similarly...
There is no need to ask anything to God if Maha Mantra is chanted regularly.
And this will definitely draw the Lord himself to you. When this happens, what's there to worry, all your needs and desires will automatically be fulfilled without asking for it.

Radhe Radhe
Ranga

Hope the readers have a wonderful story to instill the urge to chant the Maha Mantra regularly.

Nama bestowing all the goods, unasked

After a few days gap of attending the Nama chanting at Paranur, I am here to share with you some insights of the experiences that show how the chanting nama brings you near to God and create a changed and instilled peace of mind.

I am sure that, for all those fortunate persons who were able to attend the grand Nama chanting Yagya (sacrifice) would have experienced a lot of change in their thinking, speech and action. Even without asking for you get the grace showered on you. The God becomes very pleased and would do all the good that is need for you.
This happened to me to after my return from the chanting. For those who are interested in the statistics, I was blessed with a 6 day participation overall in the 30 days festival of Nama Yagya, averaging 5 to 6 hours daily putting my chanting hours to just a mere 30 hours out of the 720 hours of no stop chanting by a group of sadhus and bakthas.

I was attending my office as usual and that day, my manager called me to inform me that I was promoted and only in the recent time I was given a change in my responsibilities and role, so that it would no really trouble me too much and i would be left free to take care of some of my personal problems, at least for some time now. This promotion was indeed expected a long time back, and we were not sure how our company was going to respond to the us. This was as surprise for me. And things seemed to move more peacefully now.

I showed my orders to my Guru - Muralidhara Swamiji and he aptly blessed me saying that it was the grace of God on me to have that promotion. In my mind I was just wondering and he said the same, Yes that was really the grace of God, and whether I will be able to take it the same way if i get some trouble or change in my job (not as the way the society expects). The small child Prahalda (The puranic baktha) was able to take all the troubles as the blessings of the Lord, The great king Ambarisha (another great puranic personal) was serving the lord in spite of having all the wealth that God has given him. Will I be able to pass the same way!!! My whole life, in stark peace and having my whole faith unshaken at the foot of the Lord Hari and my beloved Guru? I believe, he has taken me over, irrespective of how I was, and here I stand as a person who holds a strong belief in the power of the Nama and the grace of the almighty, who is ever drawing me closer to himself.

The Energizing tonic -- called Hare Rama Mahamantra Nama

Bhagavan Nama, as many think is not just said to gain some favor from the GOD, instead we chant the Bhagavan nama for the sake of the peace that we get just by chanting the nama. Yes, it is a fact that by chanting the Bhagavan nama we get the blessings of the Lord, still, a true seeker and lover of GOD finds a kind of indescribable pleasure and peace just by chanting the
"Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare !
Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare !!".
This is a real gift that a true devotee gets from the GOD, the tast in just chanting his name.

And we are blessed to have been part of the Akanda Nama Kirtan that is being performed in Paranoor (a place near Thirukoviloor - around 30 KM from Villupuram -- that is 160 KM south towards Chennai in India). This holy place is sanctified by the presence of Sri Sri Krishna Premi Anna and the temple of Baktha Koolaahalan (Radha Krishna Ugala moorthy). This Nama yagyam has been performed from the 17th May onwards and is going to go on till 15th of this month. Lot of devotees are enthusiastically participating in these day and night continuous program that is running 24/7. One will have such a peace that he will completely get lost and fell immersed in the divine bliss for the whole period of his stay. Daily, between 4 PM to 6 PM Sri Sri Krishna Premi Anna would narrate the Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’s life history in his own captivating style and make us all spell bound, and all those who have heard his pravachanam (Story telling) would definitely vouch it irrespective of whether he is a lay man or learned man. So, the last week of this wonderful experience is coming alone left now. Hope my wise to be part of this last week is fulfilled.

It is nice to have our good old habits. Then, it will still be better to improve over our behaviors and habits and come out of our bad one's. Is changing or building good habits and tastes, so difficult? I would say, no, not at all difficult!! For those --> who are in the right company of such people (we call this as the Satsangh). In modern parlance, you can even call this as a peer pressure of cultivating good habits and improving your moral, social behaviors and spiritual well being.

And in my personal experience, I have been blessed with such a Satsangh. That has brought such a drastic change in my whole life, in our whole family itself (my father, my mother and brother). Now my even my family itself has become a Satsangh for me. The Satsangh changes one's attitude towards the way you live your life, your outlook and the joy it brings transforming life into a beautiful, enjoyable experience is a self evidence and no body needs to prove it to you that you are happy by, you will now by yourself how better you.

The day i was transformed, is the day when i was blessed with this Satsangh. It can be counted as the day from which my real transformation started. It's way back in 1995. And now I know, how great!! the changes have been, but for the Satsangh I would have missed out and would have been as any other mortal without this sense of happiness and an aim in life.

This Satsangh, in the holy presence of Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji is a gift of life. You can know more about Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji from the Madhuramurali link and the recent web hosting that opens the flood gate of the power of Nama now spreading through www. I will share my thoughts and experiences in this blog post. Telling how this little insignificant person is also taken care and true love showered. And how i came to realize the greatness of Satsangh? and how a Mahatma, Guru can changes one's life, so effortlessly (which would have otherwise taken, I don't know, how may thousands of births and deaths it would have cost as a jivan for me). Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, my beloved Guru, is the life and strength for not only me, but to my whole family itself. He is the bacon of happiness and hope, similarly to thousands of such families around the world, now. His simple way of teaching the right path will impress and motivate any one to chant the Maha Mantram.
"Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare !"
"Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare !!".

Hail the nama!
Jai Sita Ram! Jai Jai Radhe Shyam!

Radhe Radhe!
Radhe Krishna!

Hail the guru who has sown the seed of chanting the nama in our hearts and leading us in the simply path to the ultimate liberation, the complete freedom, joy and happiness.

:-)

Together We Win. Radhe Krishna.

This Satsangh in the holy presence of Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji is a gift of life. You can know more about Muralidhara Swamiji from the Madhuramurali link and the recent web hosting that opens the flood gate of the power of Nama now spreading through www.

I will share my thoughts and experiences in this blog post. Telling how this little insignificant person is also taken care and true love showered. And how i came to realise the greatness of satsangh and how a Mahatma, Guru can changes one's life, so effortlessesly (which would have otherwise taken, I don't know, how may thousands of births and deaths it would have cost).

Sri Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, my beloved Guru, is the life and strenght for now only me, but to my whole family itself and similarly to thousands of such families around the world, now. His simple way of teaching the right path will impress and motivate any one to chant the Maha Mantram.

"Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare !"

"Hare Krishna Hare Krishna Krishna Krishna Hare Hare !!"
